The contestants[]
More information on how I determined some of these can be found on the METHODOLOGY page.
This section is all about the 擬人化 versions of the contestants. No extra words, just information. Come to think of it, I should have put this section at the top of the page—heck, at the top of the INTRODUCTION page—but this part is where you will find the important things to keep in mind about humanizations. In the table below, I have summarily listed each contestant's object name, human name (legal and colloquial), gender, nationality, hometown and date of birth (true and modified).
I was inspired by a few "擬人化-passed contestant biography" posts on DeviantArt, which were by the deactivated account BluJayPJ. Compare and contrast his older and newer versions with mine.[1]
To codification we shall go![2]

How their names are pronounced[]
Since I know that many people are unfamiliar with some of these names—hell, I didn't even know about some of them until I went through the SSA's big list in 2018—I've included a pronunciation guide to help people pronounce the first name(s) of each contestant.
Unfortunately, some of the non-English names have had their pronunciations "butchered" (as many people say) to fit the phonotactics of the English language. This still happens today, but was much more common among immigrants to Western countries in the last century. How do you pronounce Wang and Corleone again?
Since there is no consistent system of pronunciation respelling for English, this table will be using the IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet).

Secondary information[]
Their religions[]
According to some people, especially in the last century, religious affiliations are meant to be set in stone, but some change. Nevertheless, I'm surprised at how religiously diverse the RLBFB contestants are.
Note that when transposed into the object universe, hard-set religious beliefs turn into tradition-based tendencies rather than faith-based: Match is culturally Jewish but not strictly practising, even if she had a bat mitzvah and such. Also, each character has their own "Oh my ___" phrase that mentions where their object type comes from.

Their languages[]
When asked how many languages you speak, is there really a specific number? Maybe you can carry on a long conversation or write an essay in it, or maybe just enough to get the gist of any gossip you overhear. There are different levels of language proficiency that have been quantified and categorized by things such as the CEFR, but I won't go into it here.
For all purposes, here are the levels of language skills a contestant may have, and the formatting to which they correspond in the list below.
Formatting | Meaning |
---|---|
Underlined° (with a degree symbol) | This is the only language they grew up with, at least before RLBFDI-related English acquisition. |
Underlined | Their native language, which they speak at home and in the public sphere. In other words, the language they can be heard speaking the most. |
Plain | Their heritage language, which they speak exclusively at home. |
Italicized | A language learned in school that they can speak with some degree of fluency. Alternatively, a language once spoken in their youth, but since forgotten. |
Regular grey, italicized | A language learned later in life, italicized except in the case of the extremely old. |
Light grey, italicized | A language they were exposed to as a child, but not to the extent of being considered fluent. |
Light blue, with or without italicization | A language that is understood, but not spoken. |

Their Greco-Babylonian star signs[]
These could easily be deduced from the birth dates of the contestants. I've decided to list them here because I sometimes have difficulty finding out whether a date in the calendar corresponds to one sign or another. Then there's the whole "cusp" thing, and it's all oh my gosh. All information comes from the Encyclopædia Britannica, which surprisingly has resources on this subject.
If you're an Aquarius, consider yourself lucky.

Their Chinese zodiac animals[]
This is a bit harder to find out, even if your Chinese sign is meant to correspond with your year of birth. There's a caveat here, and that is that it all depends on your year of birth on the Eastern calendar, which does not start on 1 January. Otherwise, Chinese New Year would not be a separate holiday. This also means that if you were born, say, on 1 January 2001, you would share a classification with someone born during (the majority of) 2000 rather than 2001.
For the most part, these signs should apply for the contestants in both the human and object universes... People born twelve years apart have the same sign (not the same part of the sexagenary cycle, something of a supplement), and 12 is a factor of 48, the delay between universes. Cue T.B. and G.B.'s seductive eyebrow-raising.
All information comes from the tables provided here.

Notes[]
- ↑ Unlike me, he included their (1) birthplace, (2) "race", (3) weight, (4) sexuality, (5) favourite song, (6) "usual food that they have", what (7) car they drive, their (8) real job, and whether they (9) drink or (10) smoke. 1–2 should have been alluded to in the contestants' backstories, 3 fluctuates and is frankly rude to mention, 4 should be open to interpretation, 5–7 I wouldn't note lest I use words nobody's ever heard of and 8–10 are hardly relevant in a real-life object show (especially one from the 1960s; everyone smoked!).
- ↑ I've been quite flimsy when it came to some of the traits. Sometimes I didn't think their birthdates were auspicious enough, and other times their hair colours didn't quite match their personalities, as if such a correlation could exist. This quick change even happened while I was working on the backstories! I just hope that by publishing this section, I won't need to change anything again.
- ↑ More commonly-spoken ones are in bold, lesser-known ones are smaller. Those in asterisks are names used in dubs outside the U.S., while those in double asterisks were used previously to refer to the 1960s contestants as well as the modern ones; they are now only used to refer to the modern ones.
- ↑ 4.0 4.1 4.2 4.3 It's a fluid concept these days, but was not in the popular culture of the late-sixties. Still, it's important to note this as the Other Wiki has done. In this chart, "M" refers to male and "F" refers to female. Were there to be a non-binary contestant among the originals, they would be "X". Cite error: Invalid

tag; name ":1" defined multiple times with different content - ↑ The birthdate you should follow.
- ↑ Not a memorized birthday even by the contestants themselves, but used for mathematical purposes. Say you want to find out how old a contestant was when so-and-so happened, you would take their birth date and get the average of that and the median birth date of all contestants (as of December 2020), which is 5 October 1944.
