My computer's fixed!

I don't know what that entails in terms of work on Fake TPOT (nearly anything I could do on this one I could do on another), but yeah.

Now I'm working on an '80s game show version of the TPOT intro.

BFDI's Swedish special

I'm glad I can still use a keyboard on this trip. I've just finished TPOT 20b... two days after I finished 20a! So much for the fear of not being able to finish an episode in two days. When I write an episode, I used to do it on the spot as unorganized thoughts run through my head. Nowadays I just plan ahead by writing a really basic plot on Notepad, and it makes it a lot faster. Since nobody gets to see it, I can make all the lazy typing mistakes I can!

But enough about my episode-making process. It's time to talk about TPOT 35, "The Swedish Show". This will sound awfully spoilerific, but this is the episode in which Profily comes back from the dead/Botswana/the Procyon star system/wherever they went since BFB (still working out the plot po…

Announcement and a special script (totally not TPOT-related)

Hej.

I will be partially AFK in the first week of September, so I won't be able to work on episodes as much as I have lately. I'll have to say goodbye to releasing new episodes every other day temporarily (or even permanently, as school's coming up eeeeeeeh). Doesn't mean I'll stop working on Fake TPOT altogether, because ideas keep bubbling up in my head, even as I eat and sleep and shower, oh my... but I probably do need this break. Mental health and stuff like that.

So I've decided to devote the next week to lighter things, like editing FTPOT-related pages, sprucing up the look of this wiki and maybe even updating/creating character pages (unless I'm lazy.)

The first of these "lighter things" has nothing to do with Fake TPOT at all, or so it …

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Alternate takes

(Return to the yearbook here.)

Alternate hello to alternate visitors!

  • 1 Intro to alternates
  • 2 Gallery of alternate portraits
    • 2.1 A high-quality tribute to P2O
  • 3 Notes

You know, "alternate" isn't such a dirty word. Sure, Pencil used it almost derisively to refer to her (more pleasant in personality, yet less pleasant in her opinion) fellow competitors Book and Ice Cube, but sometimes the alternate version of something can be just as or even more interesting than the original. To be honest, I hope that's not the case here, because many of the alternate versions on this page are actually just older versions of the final photos that I've saved, in case I wanted to go back and edit them some more.

Spoiler alert: I hardly ever did.

Anyway, I'm posting them her…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: The yearbook

(Return to the previous page here.)

I suppose this is the end of your journey. Or the beginning, if you're arriving here from some external link. I wouldn't mind if you took the latter option; in fact, it would be better to look at this page only and not the others (until they're fully developed and edited).

On this page, you will find the RLBFB yearbook in its entirety. Or at least as much as I have worked on it. Unlike most yearbooks, which are usually hundreds of pages long and seemingly contain every event that happened during the school year, this one will be relatively short due to the number of characters depicted in it. This was corrected in later releases.

Now, before I show you this last photo (since this is the point where I suspect…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Extra scouting

To quote the Other Wiki, recommended characters are "fan characters 'recommended' by fans of the series." In BFDI's eleven-year history, thousands of recommended characters have made their rounds on the show, mostly without speaking rôles but prominent enough to be noticed by even the most casual viewers.

But how does that translate to the years of RLBFDI, when there was no YouTube, Google, Reddit or Patreon? On this page, you can see how these people from all over the planet appeared in a show that was set in the middle of the world map.

This is probably the section you've been looking for. While the previous page contained all kinds of somewhat irrelevant information, such as when each contestant's parents and siblings were born (what does that even have to do with the competition?), here you'll find information about RLBFB's behind the scenes.

Source: "Origins of BFDI" by Jacknjellify

See "Before BFDI" for more information. Just kidding! RLBFB admittedly started very differently than the YouTube-based series did (no matter what canon it's in), and it also started much earlier.

Okay, this page was created in haste. I should have realized this earlier, but there's no way I can finish all the backstories by the yearbook deadline of the 8th of June, either by editing or by adding.

Anyway, on this page you can find each RLBFB contestant's personal history (and hopefully future—let's see, today is something, something, 1973). You can track this by searching the page for a contestant's respective name in bold (and if already in bold, then in bold-italics). It is presented in timeline mode, as each contestant's backstory does not happen independently but has a small influence on those of the others. I've made it a goal of mine to make March of 2021 better than last year. Of course, with what's developed in the world since March 2020, that doesn't seem so difficult. I should have done this earlier, but congratulations to the Jacknjellify people for having one million subscribers! And hooray for them that BFDI 1 has got exactly 100,000 likes! (Translated: An apology to Two)

I know this is a bit of a departure from what I normally do—at the moment I am in the middle of reviewing the ninth minute of the BFB finale and I am busy working on the RLBFB contestants' yearbook—but I think it's necessary to interrupt my work and post an apology for something that I said a while ago, and something I do systematically without realizing the potential pain it may cause people. This was meant to be posted at the same time that a particular scene was ready for reviewing, but I have decided to wait no longer and post it right now.

Line Analysis of BFB

Now that BFB's overwow, I can't believe I'm saying thisall the episodes have been completed and we can finally get an idea of who has spoken the most syllables in the show. I've never done this before, as a BFDI season hasn't been properly completed since January 2012, a few months before I discovered the series.

Unlike other line analyses I've done, I'm not just going to list the top five or ten most-speaking characters "so far"; I'm going to go all out and include them all. After all, there won't be an episode 31 outside fanfiction world!

But like all line analyses, there will most likely be spoilers, so beware if you haven't watched anything yet.

10.5% of all syllables spoken in the entire season were spoken in this episode—that's 9,138 out o…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Flora, Hanako-Arbutus

Flora Venus Harvey was born in Middlesex County, Massachusetts, on 9 February 1898. At the time, the U.S. did not give a second thought to what the Spanish were doing, was made up of only 45 states, and music was still predominantly recorded on wax cylinders, if it was recorded at all. Most people just preferred to go to the theatre.

Flora's upbringing is in complete contrast to her murderous personality: the only violence she was exposed to in her childhood was being allowed by her parents, Sarah Jane Adams and Thomas Ebenezer Harvey, to attend prizefights. In fact, the young Flora was allowed to do many things that even the average adult could not do at the time. She was offered the most prestigious seat in the opera at the age of four, a …

More information on how I determined some of these can be found on the METHODOLOGY page.

This section is all about the 擬人化 versions of the contestants. No extra words, just information. Come to think of it, I should have put this section at the top of the page—heck, at the top of the INTRODUCTION page—but this part is where you will find the important things to keep in mind about humanizations. In the table below, I have summarily listed each contestant's object name, human name (legal and colloquial), gender, nationality, hometown and date of birth (true and modified).

I was inspired by a few "擬人化-passed contestant biography" posts on DeviantArt, which were by the deactivated account BluJayPJ. Compare and cont…

Another new episode of BFB? How unexpected! And by unexpected, I mean completely expected. Jnj posted a few days ago that there would be a surprise new episode… coming out a few days and not a month after TPOT 1.

I guess I'll have to review my first two BFB episodes since the split. Time to bring everyone up to speed on what's happened since last March! Fortunately, I found this episode nice to watch for one reason. Update: That's what I said about episode 28. Episode 29 blew it right out of the water.

Speculating about TPOT (revised)

See this outdated page for more context. Actually, don't. It's outdated.

The year 2021 has brought us many new surprises in the world of TPOT and BFB. Now we know several things: here are the things I found out, in chronological order. If you haven't watched the new TPOT, spoilers abound.

  1. Two new characters have joined TPOT 1, not one.
  2. New TPOT episodes are released every few months, not in one month. BFB is produced more frequently.
  3. Because of that, I think BFB will end before TPOT will, the opposite of what I'd thought before.

But just because we have these things on our minds doesn't mean we have to stop asking questions. In this revised version of the old article, I have written down some new projections for old inquiries, in hopes that they'…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Colours

Alternate title: How I Sent DeviantArt Almost a Hundred Search Queries All Because I Wanted to Look at Humans.

If "0%" is in white, it means that no artist has given this particular (skin/eye/hair) colour to this particular contestant. If "0%" is in black, it means that at least one has done so, except that the percentage of the total is rounded down to 0.

Lastly, not all totals will add up to 100 due to rounding.

Well, it wasn't just DeviantArt, it was Google Images and a bit of Reddit as well.

This was admittedly one of the more fun, if time-consuming, things I had done in developing RLBFB. In fact, it's the thing that inspired me to start this whole mini-series when I saw what other people had done.

It was the end of 2020, the tenth year of BF…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Heights

For a list of the heights of the RLBFB characters, please refer back to the METHODOLOGY page.

21 January 2021 update: I've just watched saw the WarheaddVids video, the one that I linked near the bottom of the page. It's amazing and I like it better than my own analysis.

I've seen a few things go round Reddit, the Other Wiki and even YouTube regarding the heights of the BFB objects if they were in our dimension. The earlier example I saw of this was when Cary posted a video in 2013 where he mentioned that "Pencil is 1.7 meters tall". In the English system, that means she is 5’7”, pretty tall for a woman.

When this was posted, it was big news. This was a few years before P2O or even "Before BFDI" was released, but Pencil was living on in my own can…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Names

The process of finding human names for the objects of BFDI is probably as old as the show itself. The oldest example that I have is from 2014, as recorded on a Notepad document. But English isn't the language in which I recorded the first 擬人化 names; no, that honour goes to the language that the term 擬人化 originates from: Japanese.

I had been working on an extremely amateuristic and unofficial Japanese translation of BFDI in 2014, a time when all things Japanese were cool, but I didn't want to use transcriptions of the English names of the contestants, e.g. ペンシル (Penshiru for Pencil) or Japanese translations of the names of the objects, e.g. 鉛筆 (Empitsu). That would be too objectifying… ironically, for an object show.

It was around this time that …

So in the meantime, much of this page will be empty except for an outline and a timeline and some other "lines".

Note that modern year numbers are used on this page instead of the 48-years-ago numbers found in the rest of the mini-series. So TPOT 1 came out! I'm not going to blatantly give out any spoilers (you should actually watch it, it's really good), but you might have a small idea of what happened based on the syllable count analysis, which I always review before I talk about actual episode.

The review will come shortly, but since so much had been going on last and this month with my BFDI revival, I thought I'd spice up the line analysis series for the TPOT 1 review.

In December, I watched every single Jnj-made

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Eugenia, Thomas

Unlike many old-fashioned relationships in America, the older of the pair was the woman: Eugenia Beatrice Coleman was born on 9 March 1914 in Washington, Iowa. She was raised on a farm, although her family were not all of agricultural origin. Shortly before Eugenia's birth, her father, Eugene Grover Coleman, "spontaneously" appeared in Iowa looking for a new job and a new name. He got one of those things, and a new name was not one of them… even though he specifically requested "a better name than that".

Eugene was quite the socialist, voicing his support for Eugene V. Debs whenever asked about it, and he even named all his children variations of that combination: Gene, Debbie, Victor, Eugenia, Genevieve. but she effectively made South High o…

The Stories of Real-Life BFB: Giuseppe, Gianpiero, Maja

Now before RLBFB, there was not a single television show that could truly describe what this family of five went through. Divorce was still rare in the more conservative society of the 1940s and 1950s, and blended families were even rarer. In September 1969, a new hope came out to make people aware of their situation: Here was The Brady Bunch, the story of a widowed father who marries a recently-divorced woman.

The Stories of Real-Life BFB

Because The Real-Life Stories of BFB implies that it's happening in the real world, and because The Stories of BFB in Real Life carries a tone of overriding the canon. Just imagine Real-Life BFB to be the title of a TV show from the days of yore.

Actually, that's exactly what Real-Life BFB is: a TV show from the days of yore.

Author's note: I've decided to make this post to clear up some grey areas that were once there. Last year (i.e. a few days ago), I created a page with all the "human" names I used for the BFB characters just to see how inconsistent I'd been. It turns out there are a lot, maybe in the hundreds. Because my interest in BFDI has grown over the past few weeksBFB did not exist 48 years ago!

And this part is going to sound very public-te…

Preview for a brand-new (long) post!

Happy 1973—I mean, 2021!

I haven't been active on this wiki for a few days, but it's not out of laziness. I'm working on a post that I'm still figuring out how to structure. Having said that, I think it's going to be very long and it might even be posted in parts.

It's going to be another one of those "user-blog" posts since it doesn't have anything to do with , but it does concern the contestants of BFB. In the words of Flower, "every single one of them!"

Here's a preview in the form of an image: it's unfinished aesthetically, but I'll keep working on it over the next few days.

As for the text in this picture… there are no mistakes.

[Edit: I was wrong! TB was born not on the eleventh of September, but on the third of October (in 1916) as per a…

Speculating about TPOT

This post isn't about what's going to be in The Power of Two. It's not even going to be about who's going to be in it; that we already know. Two's going to be hosting and 41 contestants are going to be participating, including one recommended character. is that TPOT will most likely finish after 57 or 58 episodes, which will be released from June to July 2025. BFB will finish one to three episodes after that, from August to September 2025.

TPOT and BFB will most likely end in the summer of 2025.

Special post: “If X-MAS in Among Us was a BFDI Challenge”

In this review, I will attempt to review Jacknjellify's latest video, "If X-MAS in Among Us was a BFDI Challenge". Note the strategic capitalizing on "X-MAS"today is very nearly over and I want to finish it as soon as the spirit's still in the air. It's the first video that Jnj posted after I'd begun working on my "Ultimate Syllable Analysis" project, so this one caught me by surprise.

Disclaimer: I've never played Among Us before. I know of its existence the way that the average person does, but I don't understand the inner machinations of it, like, at all. That doesn't make the video unreviewable, though; people have been making Shakespearean commentary for centuries despite not living hundreds of years ago. If anybody wants to provide mor…

A very special holiday announcement!

I'm assuming that this is the sixth year that I've done a post like this, so I'll say it again. Merry Christmas to all! Also, Joyous Kwanzaa, Happy Boxing Day, etc., etc. 2020 has been rough on nearly everybody in the world but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate in the private parts—but it turns out that there are a lot of videos I didn't even know existed. Especially this year; I am not a very current-events-oriented human being so I don't have TikTok and am unaware of object show antics over the Twitter-sphere.

But right now, I'm hooked! It's like 2016 all over again! So here's the main part of my announcement: I want to keep making blog posts (not to mention get started on the post-split BFB reviews) and to continue to make miscellaneous p…

Special post: “Jingle BELL Rock 🔔 Song with Four, Bell, Seven”

"Merry Christmas to you, happy new year all year through, happy holiday to you!"

If it was socially acceptable for two American Jews from the last century to sing a Christmas song about Jesus, then I have no problem with one Canadian Jew in this century singing a Christmas song about rock 'n' roll. Or his appearing in a bunch of artwork from Twitter that depicts him as a Christian. but I'll admit to having laughed out loud to every single second.

That's all for "now", whenever that is.

Ha

Wait, it's too early!

Special post: “BFB Contestants React to Wiki Comments”

When exactly one week has passed since the release of the latest BFB episode, you don't expect much to be released in Jacknjellify's name. everything is fair game. Personally, I'd love to see the contestants react to some of the cringy fanfics I've made over the years.

Now I really love the people in the object show community. I don't know most of them, although I know that they're attracted to humour. A certain type of humour at that, but I think that's what needs to happen to keep the OSC young and healthy. Goodness knows we need more of that.

Season 4, Episodes 22 to 24

This is a really special post. So special that it deserves its own page here, combined with the review of the next episode.

I must admit that I haven't watched the episode yet (shocking!), but I was a little spoiled in the recommended section of YouTube... apparently there is something in this brand-new episode that will really change the events in a certain episode.

It's over

Well, this is finally it, BFB, and overall BFDI in general

Is over

and this is why

  • 1 Background
  • 2 BFB 4
  • 3 BFB 8
  • 4 The Year-long Hiatus
  • 5 BFB 14 and 15
  • 6 BFB 16 and 'The Split'
  • 7 Why BFB is a cashgrab and Conclusion

I hadn't been in the fandom for a while now, and at first I was skeptical about BFB's existance, in fact when I watched parts of BFB 1 and 2, I was completely disinterested, it was only after BFB 3 came out that I really started to get back into BFDI, however, BFB 4 wasn't so lucky...

It was with BFB 4 that I started to feel like BFB was becoming something a cashgrab. For those of you who don't know BFB 4 is my least favourite episode of the first 5, in fact it could probably be my least favourite episode in the series. While it did have it's mom…
